A location so simple, yet created such a beautiful background for this couples photo session. When planning this photo session with Josh and Sydney we had a vision in mind, we wanted to create a dreamy, intimate but also playful photo series. A week before their session, while driving in a new-to-me neighbourhood I came across this local park. I immediately pulled over and instantly knew this was the spot for Josh and Sydney's upcoming photo shoot. I sent them photos of the location and they agreed that this was the spot! and like that we changed our photoshoot location to a local Brampton park with fields covered in hundreds of dandelion flowers.
Starting the photo session off with bright sunlight beaming over the field of dandelions, I followed the couple's lead as they walked towards the field and placed their blanket down. Both Josh and Sydney were naturally comfortable in front of the camera and able to start the session off with beautiful shots. So naturally posed and connected, creating those desired intimate shots we sought out to make. The light then softened with the help of some big puffy clouds, diffusing the bright sunlight and adding soft light onto the couples faces and bodies. This created such a contrast between images in similar poses, which truthfully I really loved. Both forms of lighting were great to shoot in, and gave such a dynamic range of photos in this scene.
The sun began to set behind the trees in the background, this is when we decided to transition into more playful shots. With the help of my lens diffuser, and the softened light from the sun setting, the dreamy lighting we were looking for was created. I started the couple off in a pose having Josh hug Sydney from behind, as they joked around and embraced each others presence. The couple then created those desired playful shots by being naturally and authentically themselves, creating those playful images envisioned.
The session came to an end, we packed everything up and started saying our goodbyes, but something caught my eye. In the corner of my eye I noticed this bright orange light poking through the trees in the background. I knew that light wasn't there before so instantly I was intrigued. After moving around a little we all noticed that this was a full moon rising. We looked at each other and instantly knew. Sydney yelled "we have 5 minutes" and they both ran over to find a good spot while I got my camera out. It was hilarious how fast we were all moving, if someone was watching us from afar I'm sure they got a good laugh. I am so happy we moved as quickly as we did because it captured such a unique and beautiful photo series, along with a photo that I know will be a forever favourite in my couples portfolio, the image shown above.
